Ways to Remember a Loved One
|
The loss of a loved one leaves a significant void in our life, especially during the holidays. For many of us, a gift in memory of a spouse, parent or other family member or close friend provides an opportunity to remember and acknowledge someone in a meaningful way. The Masonic Villages offer several ways to remember a loved one this holiday season.
In Elizabethtown, for those wishing to memorialize someone and to assist retirement living residents at the same time, there is the Tree of Life program. Gifts of $1,000 or more in memory of someone can be expressed on a leaf or stone on the Tree of Life sculpture located in the Clubhouse. In Sewickley, the Friend-to-Friend program offers a similar opportunity for gifts of $1,000 or more in remembrance of someone to assist those in need at that campus. Gifts to this program are recognized on a special plaque placed prominently in the entrance to the Clubhouse in Sewickley. Friend-to-Friend plaques for similar gifts to assist those in need at our Lafayette Hill and Warminster campuses were unveiled in October.
Another popular way to remember someone is through our endowment programs. Most recently, the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown received a significant gift to establish the Arline M. Hughes Caring Fund to assist residents in need at the Masonic Health Care Center. Details on this new fund will be announced in an upcoming Village Voice. Additional memorial opportunities available at the Elizabethtown campus include the endowments for the Masonic Children's Home and the Residential Cottage programs. Donations of any amount to either of these programs qualify for the program's Collective Endowment Fund. Gifts of $25,000 or more to either program are eligible for the special Named Gift Endowment Fund.
If you are interested in remembering someone in a special manner that impacts the lives of others through one of these programs, please contact the Office of Gift Planning toll-free at (800) 599-6454.
