Donor Dinner Highlights
|
The Masonic Villages in Elizabethtown, Lafayette Hill and Sewickley hosted annual donor dinners to honor individuals who generously contribute to furthering the mission of the Masonic Charities of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. The Masonic Charities include the Masonic Villages, Pennsylvania Youth Foundation, The Pennsylvania Masonic Foundation for Children, The Masonic Library and Museum of Pennsylvania and the Masonic Charities Fund.
On May 26, more than 230 individuals attended a combined Masonic Charities Donor Recognition Celebration and Franklin Legacy Society Dinner in the Brossman Ballroom in Elizabethtown.
Following remarks by Bro. Joseph E. Murphy, Chief Executive Officer, Bro. Ronald L. Hughes spoke to guests about The Arline M. Hughes Caring Fund, a fund he and his family established in his mother's memory to enhance the quality of residents' lives at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown.
Mrs. Hughes was a participant at the Adult Daily Living Center before becoming a resident in the Masonic Health Care Center.
R.W. Grand Master William Slater II concluded the program in Elizabethtown by expressing his appreciation for the group's support of the Masonic Charities. He also presented emblems of gold to all Brethren in attendance celebrating 50 years of membership in the Fraternity in 2005.
Philanthropists from Eastern Pennsylvania were honored at the first-ever Donor Dinner in Lafayette Hill on June 9. Thirty-five donors and Franklin Legacy Society members came together to celebrate their contributions to the Masonic Charities.
Adrienne Staudenmayer, Executive Director in Lafayette Hill, welcomed guests, while Grand Master Slater offered his heartfelt thanks for donors' generous and thoughtful support. Bro. Murphy also was on hand to individually greet and thank each donor.
On June 22, 60 donors and guests attended the second annual Donor Dinner and Franklin Legacy Society Recognition Dinner in Sewickley. Grand Master Slater and B.J. Franks, Executive Director in Sewickley, thanked guests for their continued support of the Masonic Charities. Sewickley resident Norma Gentile, president of the Resident Association, shared her enthusiasm and support of the Friend to Friend program through her charitable gift annuity.
