People Caring About People
|
When people consider a move into a retirement community, a question they frequently ask is, "What will happen when I spend down my resources to the point where I am no longer able to either meet my costs of care or, in the case of retirement living resident, the cost of my monthly maintenance/service fees?" At the Masonic Villages of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, residents have peace of mind in the knowledge that through the Villages' Mission of Love program, support systems are in place to assist them.
In 2004, over $19.1 million in such aid was provided. This represents an 18.3 percent increase over 2003 when $16.2 million of financial assistance was needed. Where do these monies come from? The answer in a single word is through philanthropy. Through the thoughtful bequests and gifts of Freemasons and friends of the Fraternity over the years and the investment income earned by those funds, the Masonic Villages has been able to continue and to expand its Mission of Love.
