Dementia Awareness Expo
|
Thursday, Sept. 27 and Friday, Sept. 28: Dementia Awareness Expo in the Roosevelt Assembly Room of the Masonic Health Care Center. The expo begins Thursday at 10 a.m. and continues through Friday until 2 a.m. Doors re-open Friday at 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Immediately following the close of the Expo, at 2:15 p.m. in the Washington One Classroom of the Masonic Health Care Center, Dr. Kenneth Brubaker will be presenting a discussion on the "False Cures & Myths Concerning Dementia."
This Expo will provide individuals and caregivers facing dementia with helpful information and adequate resources they can utilize if the need arises. Many departments from the Masonic Village, as well as several outside, agencies will be participating in the Expo, displaying the various services that are available here, as well in the community.
The event is open free of charge to residents and their families, staff and nearby not-for-profit nursing facilities. Light refreshments and door prizes will be offered.
