HOWARD PETERMAN CELEBRATES 100 YEARS!

Howard M. Peterman, a resident of Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, Pa., will celebrate his 100 th birthday on June 4.

A native of Nordmont, Pa., Mr. Peterman grew up on a farm. The Great Depression was a catalyst for Mr. Peterman to decide to leave home to attend an auto mechanics school in Cleveland, Ohio. That was the right choice, as he has had a lifetime passion for mechanics. He enjoyed working on any kind of motor, making repairs and teaching students about new mechanics.

Mr. Peterman has been a member of Masonic Lodge No. 299 for 75 years. He also wrote an autobiography, "Letters from Elizabethtown -- Memories of a Sullivan County Man" which he jokes, he must now refer to from time to time. He and his late wife, Naomi, have two daughters, four great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

His advice for longevity is, "I had good health habits and did what was right."
