Kocent Joins Masonic Village
Robert W. Kocent has been appointed assistant executive director at the Masonic Village at Sewickley, according to B.J. Franks, executive director.

In his new position, Kocent is responsible for planning and directing all facets of operation for the community's nursing care and assisted living facilities; participating on the executive team to develop and implement the strategic plan for the Masonic Village at Sewickley; and providing leadership to staff in quality assessment and regulatory compliance.

Kocent earned his master's degrees in both social work and health administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a Certified Healthcare Executive (CHE) and earned his certification as a Nursing Home Administrator (NHA).

Prior to joining the Masonic Village, Kocent served as the administrator of St. Francis Nursing Center Cranberry and chief administrative officer of St. Francis Hospital Cranberry; and executive vice president, continuum of care services, for Pittsburgh Mercy Health System, all located in Pittsburgh, Pa. Most recently, he served as the associate executive director for Longwood at Oakmont, Plum Borough, Pa.

Kocent serves as a board member for Benedictine Center Adult Day Care/Senior Center and Marian Manor Nursing Home. He also is a member of Southwestern Pennsylvania Healthcare Executives, Southwest Pennsylvania Partnership on Aging, National Association of Social Workers/Academy of Certified Social Workers and Hospital Council of Western Pennsylvania. He previously served as president of the University of Pittsburgh Health Administration Alumni Association.

The Masonic Village at Sewickley is a not-for-profit life care community offering retirement living, assisted living and nursing care services.
