Couple Celebrates 70th Wedding Anniversary
|
Frank and Eleanor Calvi, residents of Masonic Village in Lafayette Hill,
Pa., will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on April 25.
Natives of Philadelphia, they grew up across the street from each other and
began dating at the age of 18. Six months later, they eloped to New York.
Mr. Calvi retired from Warner Lambert in Philadelphia, working as a
mechanic.
He is a member of Fernwood Masonic Lodge No. 543. He played the trumpet
in a band and
was a member of a church choir and served as a deacon and usher.
Mrs. Calvi, formerly Eleanor La Rosa, enjoyed cooking and was a seamstress
who made
specialty clothing for a local tailor shop. She was also a homemaker.
The Calvi's have two children; Mary Camorata, of Philadelphia; and Jay, of
Mt. Pocono, Pa.;
three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Their secret for a happy marriage is "agreeing and compromising." They will
be celebrating
with family and friends at Masonic Village.
