Couple Celebrates 60th Wedding Anniversary

Edwin and Phyllis Wagner will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on March 17 at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, Pa. They were married in 1946 at Community Church, Gloucester, Mass. They first met at a wedding, in which Mrs. Wagner, former Phyllis Arnold, was maid of honor and Mr. Wagner was a groomsman. They began dating and had a long distance relationship while Mr. Wagner attended Ohio State University. A year later, they married.

Mr. Wagner served in the Army for one year, stationed at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He worked in the federal government as a procurement officer for 20 years. His current hobbies include woodworking and reading. Mr. Wagner is a member of Spring Creek Masonic Lodge No. 802.

Mrs. Wagner, a retired nurse, worked for 20 years for Poly Clinic Hospital, Harrisburg. She enjoys knitting and reading.

They are both members of First United Methodist Church, Hershey, Pa.

Their advice for a happy marriage is to learn your partner's likes and dislikes, give and take and respect and honor each other.

The Wagner's have three children, Natalie Hobson of Salisbury, Md., Ed Jr. of Fairfax, Va., and Robert, of Glendale, Ariz. They have four grandchildren.
