Couple Celebrates 60th Wedding Anniversary
|
Edwin and Phyllis Wagner will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on
March 17 at the
Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, Pa. They were married in 1946 at Community
Church,
Gloucester, Mass. They first met at a wedding, in which Mrs. Wagner, former
Phyllis Arnold, was
maid of honor and Mr. Wagner was a groomsman. They began dating and had a
long distance
relationship while Mr. Wagner attended Ohio State University. A year later,
they married.
Mr. Wagner served in the Army for one year, stationed at Fort Sam Houston,
Texas. He
worked in the federal government as a procurement officer for 20 years. His
current hobbies
include woodworking and reading. Mr. Wagner is a member of Spring Creek
Masonic Lodge No.
802.
Mrs. Wagner, a retired nurse, worked for 20 years for Poly Clinic Hospital,
Harrisburg. She
enjoys knitting and reading.
They are both members of First United Methodist Church, Hershey, Pa.
Their advice for a happy marriage is to learn your partner's likes and
dislikes, give and take
and respect and honor each other.
The Wagner's have three children, Natalie Hobson of Salisbury, Md., Ed Jr.
of Fairfax, Va.,
and Robert, of Glendale, Ariz. They have four grandchildren.
