Aungst Installed Grand Master of Pennsylvania Freemasons

Ronald A. Aungst, Sr., was installed as the 116th Right Worshipful Grand Master of the Freemasons of Pennsylvania on Dec. 27, 2005, at the Annual Communication held at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center, Hershey, Pa.
In this role, Aungst will lead the Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania, some 126,000 members strong, as its Grand Master and the Chairman of the Board of Directors. He will oversee the various functions of the Masonic Charities, which include the Masonic Temple; The Masonic Library and Museum of Pennsylvania; the Masonic Villages, which serve over 2,400 residents in Dallas, Elizabethtown, Lafayette Hill, Sewickley and Warminster, Pa.; and the Pennsylvania Masonic Youth Foundation.
A native of Jersey Shore, Pa., Aungst was employed for 35 years in the Jersey Shore Area School District, serving first as a technical education instructor and then rising to the position of principal, serving in three of the four elementary schools in the district. Aungst retired in June 2005 to focus on his role as Grand Master.
Aungst is a member of LaBelle Vallee Lodge No. 232 and was Worshipful Master in 1986. He also is active with numerous other Masonic-affiliated bodies, including the Valley of Williamsport Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Northeast York Rite College No. 102, Lycoming Royal Arch Chapter No. 222, Baldwin Commandery No. 22, Andiram Council No. 26, Susquehanna Council No. 244 Allied Masonic Degrees, Red Cross of Constantine - Williamsport Conclave, Zafar Groto Club, Excelsior Mark Lodge, Pennsylvania Lodge of Research, Charter Member of Pacific Rim Lodge No. 12 - Vladivostok, Russia, and the LuLu and Irem Shrines.
A member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Jersey Shore, Aungst resides in Jersey Shore with his wife, Norma. They have four children, Ronald Jr., of Singapore; Rachelle, of Loyalsock, Pa.; Renee, of Williamsport, Pa.; Ryan, of Jersey Shore, Pa.; and three grandchildren, Reis, Kadence and Alexa.
