Kocent Promoted to Executive Director for the Masonic Village
|
Robert W. Kocent has been promoted to executive director for the Masonic Village at Sewickley, according to Joseph E. Murphy, chief executive officer of the Masonic Villages of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. He will replace B.J. Franks, who has assumed a new leadership role within the organization to assist with fund raising and project development.
Kocent joined the Masonic Village, a not-for-profit lifecare retirement community, as assistant executive director in March 2005. In his new position, Kocent is responsible for all facets of operation for the not-for-profit continuing care retirement community. As part of the executive team, he will implement the strategic plan for the Masonic Village at Sewickley and provide leadership to staff in service enhancement, quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining the Masonic Village, Kocent served as the associate executive director for Longwood at Oakmont, Plum Borough, Pa. He also served as the administrator of St. Francis Nursing Center Cranberry and chief administrative officer of St. Francis Hospital Cranberry; president of Mercy Providence Hospital and executive vice president, continuum of care services, for Pittsburgh Mercy Health System, all located in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Kocent earned his master's degrees in both social work and health administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a certified healthcare executive and licensed nursing home administrator.
Kocent is a diplomate in the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of Southwestern Pennsylvania Healthcare Executives, Southwest Pennsylvania Partnership on Aging and National Association of Social Workers/Academy of Certified Social Workers. He also serves as a committee member for PANPHA, an association of Pennsylvania nonprofit senior services, and for Hospital Council of Western Pennsylvania.
He is a member of Masonic Lodge No. 45, Pittsburgh.
Kocent resides in Franklin Park, Pa.
