Masonic Village Resident Celebrates 104th Birthday
|
Marguerite Perrine, a resident of the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, Pa., will
celebrate her 104th birthday on February 18. Mrs. Perrine, a native of Oil City, Pa., is
a former housewife who loved to cook and was famous for her pies.
As a young girl she participated with her father in several dance contests and sang
on KDKA, Pittsburgh's first radio station. She still loves to sing her favorite song
"Bye-Bye Blackbird" and enjoys visitors and writing letters with assistance to friends
and family.
Her parents were natives of Sweden and Mrs. Perrine's name is listed in the
Swedish American Museum in Chicago as a "pure Swede."
Mrs. Perrine has a son and a daughter, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren
and five great-great-grandchildren.
