Who is eligible, and what are the criteria for admission to retirement living?
Applicants to retirement living must be 60 years of age or older. For married couples, one spouse needs to be 60 and the other at least 55. The criteria are based on the applicant's ability to meet requirements of tenancy, maintain health and safety, and meet the financial requirements. For additional eligibility requirements, see the Admissions Policy or call the Marketing Office at (800) 676-6452.
Do I have to turn over my assets upon entrance to the Masonic Village?
No. You maintain complete control of your assets. You only are responsible for the entrance fee (if applicable), your monthly service fee and any personal expenses not included in the monthly service fee.
Are pets allowed in retirement living?
Yes. Pets are permitted within the resident handbook guidelines.
What if I am unable to pay my monthly fee?
If residents become unable to meet their fees due to circumstances beyond their control, they will not be required to leave the Masonic Village based solely on their financial status, as specified in the Resident Agreement.
May I bring more than one automobile?
Yes. Residents are encouraged to maintain one or more of their automobiles if they wish. Residents also may utilize our bus service.
If my spouse requires long-term assisted living or nursing services, what impact does this have on my status to remain in my apartment?
Residents have the option to either maintain their present living unit with the monthly service fee adjusted for single occupancy, or to move to another unit more suited to their needs, when available.
