Must I have a minimum amount of assets to be eligible for admission to residential living?
No. There is no required amount of money necessary, and we do not require that your assets be signed over to the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. Applicants are required to maintain eligibility for Medical Assistance, Medicare and other third-party payers by not transferring or giving away assets. Fraternal support enables the Masonic Villages to serve all eligible individuals as part of our Mission of Love.
Do you require a security deposit or fee with an application to residential living?
No. No fees are requested when you complete an application, and no monies are needed prior to move-in.
If my funds deplete, will I be asked to leave the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown?
No. As long as you abide by the rules and regulations of the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown and maintain your eligibility for Medical Assistance and other third-party reimbursements, you will not be required to leave.
Are residents free to come and go as they please?
Yes. You are encouraged to go on trips and visit with friends and relatives. We do ask that you let us know your whereabouts for any extended absence so we can notify you in case of an emergency.
Will I be able to keep my automobile?
Yes, provided you follow the guidelines established under the Automobile Policy for residential living. The policy indicates that a resident must hold a valid Pennsylvania driver's license, auto registration, auto inspection and auto insurance. Residents are financially responsible for all costs associated with a motor vehicle.
May I have appliances in my room?
Yes. Appliances approved by the Masonic Village may be used in your units. A complete list is available through the Admissions Office.
May I bring my own furniture?
Yes, you may bring furnishings and personal items as space permits. Masonic Village also offers furnishings for your convenience.
What type of transportation is available?
Shuttle buses are available for transportation throughout the campus, as well as for residents to go on various outings, activities, and shopping trips.
Are pets permitted?
In residential living, only cats, birds and fish are permitted.
Is there an age requirement to reside in the residential living area?
Yes. You must be at least 65 years of age. For married couples, one spouse needs to meet the age requirement.
Are any medical services provided in residential living?
No. Residents have access to nursing services on a fee-for-service basis at
