On Memorial Day weekend 2013, Pennsylvania Freemasons participated in the rededication of the Friend to Friend
Masonic Memorial in Gettysburg. The event included a picnic and the re-creation of the battle scene of
Pickett's Charge; the moment when Union Capt. Bro. Henry Bingham come to the aid of Confederate Brig.
Gen. Bro. Lewis A. Armistead was a heartfelt reminder of how the Masonic brotherhood transcends all differences.
That evening featured an inspiring speech from a re-enactor portraying Gen. Bro. Robert E. Lee. Approximately
600 people attended the Friend to Friend Masonic Memorial rededication the following day, and thousands more
enjoyed the Gettysburg Parade in which many bodies of the Family of Freemasonry took part.
