2005 MAN TO MASON ONE-DAY CLASS

In 2005, the R. W. Grand Master, Bro. William Slater, II, authorized a second edition of the Man to Mason One Day Class.

As always, a new petitioner may progress through the degrees in the traditional fashion, if desired, but the One Day Class is an option for those who could not otherwise join the fraternity.

DISTRICT DEPUTY GRAND MASTERS - The Lead DDGM for each location has total responsibility for that class and will coordinate the activities of all the participating Districts.

LODGES - Lodges will be responsible for the necessary Mentors as they were last year. Each class location will have one Host Lodge that will open and close the Degrees. The Host Lodge will perform courtesy degrees on behalf of the Lodges. This will NOT be a Grand Lodge Communication as it was last year.

PETITION PROCESS - The Grand Master encourages all Lodges to have Special Meetings prior to the One Day Class to receive and ballot on petitions in accordance with Masonic Law. The petitions must be received by the Lodge, read at a Lodge Meeting, investigated by an appointed committee, and balloted upon. The petition must be submitted to the Grand Secretary's office on a Monthly Return for clearance. A cut-off date will be established to complete the requirements prior to the date of the selected One Day Class.

Any candidate who has already received the Entered Apprentice or Fellowcraft Degree may complete the balance of his Degrees at the One Day Class. There is no provision for a "Mason at Large" this year.

REPRESENTATIVE OF THE GRAND MASTER - The Grand Master will designate a Right Worshipful or a personal representative at each location to oversee the site functions.

LUNCH - Meal arrangements will be different for each location. Your Lodge Secretary will have the details for this. All who attend must sign up in advance for lunch.
