Q. Do I have to use a special petition or can I use any petition I may have?
A. Any petition will do if you do not have a special petition.

Q. I live in Philadelphia. My father lives in Pittsburgh. Can I join my father's Lodge?
A. Yes.

Q. How much does it cost?
A. Each Lodge fee is different, the person answering the phone at the 1-800-990-1935 number has a listing of all of the Lodges in Pennsylvania and can tell you the fee.

Q. I have heard rumors about a lot of memory work. Will I have to do this?
A. As a candidate at a One Day Class you will be assigned a 'mentor' who will teach you the basics. At your home Lodge you may be encouraged to learn some of the memory work, but it is not required.

Q. When is the deadline for petitions?
A. Deadline for petitions being submitted to the Lodge, read, investigated and voted on, and in the Grand Secretaries office, and all paper work completed, is September 15, 2005.

Q. I live out of state-- is there any way I can become a Pennsylvania Mason?
A. Yes, if you have proper recommenders. The Secretary of the Lodge you petition will follow the procedure for a "waiver of jurisdiction."
