Right Worshipful Grand Secretary, Bro. Mark A. Haines   
Brother Mark A. Haines was installed as the Right Worshipful Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania during the Annual Grand Communication of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania on December 27, 2005. He had served as Deputy Grand Secretary since June and succeeded the retiring Right Worshipful Grand Secretary, Brother Donald L. Albert.

Prior to becoming the Deputy Grand Secretary, Brother Haines had been employed as the Human Resources Manager by HealthGuard of Lancaster. Before that, he had been employed in various claims management positions by the Loomis Company and the United States Life Insurance Company.

In the Masonic Fraternity, Brother Haines has served as the District Deputy Grand Master for the 7th Masonic District from 1998 through 2005. He is a member of Reading Lodge No. 549 where he served as Worshipful Master in 1995. He also is a dual member of Teutonia Lodge No. 367, Reading, and a member of the Pennsylvania Lodge of Research. Bro. Haines was awarded the Pennsylvania Franklin Medal for outstanding service to the Craft in December of 2009.

In the Appendant bodies of York Rite Masonry, he served as Most Excellent High Priest of Reading Royal Arch Chapter No. 152 and is a member of Creigh Council No. 16, Royal and Select Masters; Reading Commandery No. 9, Knights Templar; Constantine Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine, Reading; and Excelsior Mark Lodge No. 216, Philadelphia. In the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Brother Haines is a Past Thrice Potent Master and Trustee of Reading Lodge of Perfection, Valley of Reading, and he was Coroneted a 33rd Degree Mason, Honorary Member of the Supreme Council, N.M.J, in St. Louis, MO in September 2003. In the Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Brother Haines is a Past President of the Director's Staff of Rajah Shrine, Reading. He is a member of Fellowship High Twelve Club No. 669, Reading.

Brother Haines has long been an active supporter of the Masonic youth organizations and is an Advisor for Reading Chapter, Order of DeMolay. In 2004, he was awarded the DeMolay Legion of Honor by the International Supreme Council of the Order of DeMolay. He also served as an Advisor for Reading Assembly, The International Order of Rainbow for Girls.

Brother Haines is a native of Reading. PA and was graduated from Reading High School and the Pennsylvania State University, Berks Campus, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. He is an avid Penn State football fan. He is married to the former Karen Lynn Capion and the couple are the proud parents of five children. The Haines' attend Peace Lutheran Church.
