Grand Chapter Presents Donation to Masonic Villages
In June, the Grand Chapter of Pennsylvania, Order of the Eastern Star, presented a contribution of $100,050.81 to the Masonic Villages of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, as well as an additional $10,000 for the Warminster Initiative.
Since the union of our homes in 1998, the Grand Chapter has provided numerous contributions to provide a quality of life for residents who may otherwise not be able to pay for their care. Some examples of items which donations received from Grand Chapter have provided include:
Christmas gifts for residents at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, as well as the renovation of the underground resident passageway system for total handicapped accessibility.
New window treatments for the renovated nursing care resident rooms at the Masonic Village at Sewickley; an acoustic piano; a rehab cycle; a bifocal reminiscing program; and a Q-Chord instrument for activities programming.
New window treatments; more attractive, useable courtyards, including a gas rotisserie grill for cook-outs; new patio furniture; a state-of-the-art security system; and a large tent which is used for various activities such as picnics and outdoor celebrations, including a visiting petting zoo in the summer.
The Masonic Villages serve more than 2,150 residents in four locations. The more than $20 million in fraternal services makes a significant impact on the residents' lives.
