Masonic Homes Receives Award for Support of Our Military

Earlier this year, the Masonic Homes at Elizabethtown was presented with one of the top state awards given by the Department of Defense to employers whose policies and practices are supportive of their employees' participation in the National Guard and Reserves. In accepting the award on behalf of the Masonic Homes, Dr. Vicki Gillmore, Administrator, Health Care Services, said, "The awards service was very moving. I have never felt more proud to be an American."

Several months before, Lt. Col. Donna Hershey, U.S. Army Reserves, who is Director of Care and Outcomes for the Masonic Homes at Elizabethtown, entered the Masonic Homes for the "Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves Awards," presented by the Department of Defense. Lt. Colonel Hershey is serving as chief nurse in the 339th Combat Support Hospital, which left for active duty in Afghanistan on June 22. Our prayers follow her and all individuals protecting our rights and freedom.
