For the fifth consecutive year, Kennett Lodge No. 475, Kennett Square, has awarded scholarships to local students. This year, $1,000 scholarships were given to Erica Larson of Chadds Ford, a graduate of Unionville High School who will major in business at Boston College, and to Veronica Salpan of Kennett Square, a graduate of Kennett Square High School who will major in molecular biology at West Chester University. In the past year, the lodge has given a total of $10,000 to the following community organizations: Kennett Volunteer Fire Co., PO-MAR-LIN Volunteer Fire Co., the Paoli Memorial Hospital wheelchair fund, the YMCA summer camp program, and the Bayard Taylor Memorial Hospital.
