The Grand Master's Law Enforcement Scholarship information and applications were sent to all of the lodge secretaries, district deputies, and members of the Pennsylvania Masonic Foundation for Children Speakers Bureau. Deadline for applications to be received is Nov. 30.

Two scholarships will be awarded and each will provide the student with $2,500 per year, renewable for up to three additional years, for a total of $10,000. The student must maintain a 2.5 grade point average or better on a 4.0 scale each year of his or her post-secondary education.

Started in 1998, these scholarships were developed to honor students desiring to enter the law enforcement profession. To apply, a student must be a senior and have been accepted at a college or university, have declared Criminal Justice as his or her major, and be a son or daughter of a Pennsylvania Master Mason in good standing.

"Masons have a deep regard for those individuals who keep our communities safe through the daily war on drugs, and this is one way to honor them," said Bro. Raymond G. Brown, Executive Director of the Foundation. Anyone who would like to receive a scholarship application or know more about the program should contact Bro. Brown at (215) 988-1978, or Mrs. Deborah McCoy, Assistant Director, at (717) 871-0408.
