Stenberg Scholarship

Seven students received checks for $1,000 each from the Pennsylvania Masonic Foundation for Children as the first installments on as many as four years of the Carl W. Steinberg, Jr. Scholarships. They were selected from among 20 finalists of more than 100 applicants. These scholarships are awarded annually to young persons who have turned their lives around through the Student Assistance Program (SAP).

Each recipient is eligible for up to $1,000 a year for up to four years of post high school education providing he or she remains drug- and alcohol-free and maintains at least a 2.5 grade average while in college. Each applicant has completed a Student Assistance Program successfully and was recommended by his or her school's SAP team.

Since the fund was established in 1993, a total of 40 scholarships have been awarded. The Foundation is awarding $28,000 annually in scholarships.
