The Master Mason's degree was conferred on a father and his son the same evening in Honesdale Lodge No. 218. They are Henry J. Zipperlen (right) and his son, David J. (left), who also were honored by the presence of a friend of the family, Kenneth R. Bush (center), Grand Representative of the Grand Lodge Rio Grande Do Sul, Brazil, near the Grand Lodge of New York.

Honesdale Lodge has 14 father and son memberships, but this is the first time anyone in the lodge can recall a father and son being raised together. Among the 14 father-son combinations, three are fathers with two sons; and among those combinations, all three fathers are past masters.
