Thirty-four more D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) officers were graduated from training at the Masonic Conference Center on the Patton Campus at Elizabethtown. That brings the total number of law enforcement officers trained courtesy of the Pennsylvania Masonic Foundation for Children to 730. Two more classes are planned for 2001, as well as middle school mentor training to expand the program to benefit upper grades. The addition of the Samuel C. Williamson Multi-Media Center to Memorial Hall, along with the upgrading of the facilities at the Patton Campus provides law enforcement personnel in Pennsylvania with the most modern training center for D.A.R.E. and G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training) in the country. |
