Construction Project Recognized for Excellence

The Masonic Village at Sewickley recently was honored with numerous awards for the construction and design of the Star Points Building assisted living residence, Barley Wellness Center and the retirement living community.

Along with Perkins Eastman Architects; MI Friday, Inc.; NDC Builders, LLC; and BAC Local 9 PA, the Masonic Village of Sewickley was recognized for excellence in masonry design and construction with the International Masonry Institute 2004 Golden Trowel Award. The award recognizes the owner, architect, builder and craft worker, who, by sharing their vision and expert craftsmanship, have created some of the most beautiful and well-designed structures in Pennsylvania. The community received the Grand Award over all entries, as well as the Best in Category Award in the Multi-family Residential category.

The construction project also received the 2003 Award of Excellence and the 2003 Award of Merit in the General Contractor-Commercial division from Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc., Western Pennsylvania Chapter, along with NDC Builders and Perkins Eastman Architects, P.C.

The National Association of Home Builders, Seniors Housing Council awarded Masonic Village at Sewickley and Perkins Eastman Architects a Platinum Award for the Clubhouse interiors and Silver Award for the Star Points Buildings unique design.
