asc11Pennsylvania State Senators Witness Raising

Seven Pennsylvania State Senators traveled to Elizabethtown on Monday, November 24, 2003, to participate in the Raising of Brother and Senator David J. "Chip" Brightbill in Abraham C. Treichler Lodge No. 682. Sen. Brightbill is the Senate Majority Leader and serves District 48, which includes Elizabethtown. There are now 13 PA State Senators who are Master Masons.

The Degree was conferred by Bro. Thomas R. Labagh, PM of Lodge 682, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Youth Foundation. Bro. Edward A. Dawson, PM, gave the Charge. Serving as Guide was Bro. & Former Representative Kenneth E. Brandt, House District 98, a member of Ashara Lodge 398, Mount Joy.

In attendance were Bro. Robert C. Jubelirer, Senate District 30, President Pro Tempore of the Senate, a member of Hiram Lodge 616 in Altoona; Bro. Charles D. Lemmond, Jr., Senate District 20, a member of Kingston Lodge 395, in Kingston; Bro. Roger A. Madigan, Senate District 23, a member of Union Lodge 108 in Towanda; Bro. Harold F. Mowery, Jr., Senate District 31, a member of Eureka Lodge 302 in Mechanicsburg; Bro. Jeffrey E. Piccola, Senate District 15, Majority Whip, a member of Robert Burns Lodge 464 in Harrisburg; Bro. Michael L. Waugh, Senate District 28, a member of Shrewsbury Lodge 423, Shrewsbury; and Bro. Noah W. Wenger, Senate District 36, a member of Ephrata Lodge 665, Ephrata.

Senators not present were Bro. Vincent J. Fumo, Senate District 1, a member of Shekinah Lodge 246, Chestnut Hill; Bro. Vincent J. Hughes, a member of Mt. Lebanon Lodge 9, Prince Hall Affiliation; Bro. Robert D. Robbins, Senate District 50, a member of Adelphic Lodge 424 in Jamestown; Bro. J. Barry Stout, Senate District 46, a member of Beallsville Lodge 237, Beallsville; and Bro. Robert M. Tomlinson, Senate District 6, a member of Harry A. Houseman Lodge 717, Somerton.
