Three Sons and a Son-in-Law Raised in St. James Lodge No. 457

3son

Robert C. Boyde, Sr., is a proud Masonic father. Four of his family three sons and a son-in-law were raised Dec. 1 to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in St. James Lodge No. 457, Bridgewater. Not only was he present for the conferrals, but he also participated in the degree work.

The three sons are Robert C., Jr., Thomas E., and D. Jason. The son-in-law is John R. Pollick. The degrees were conferred by Jerrold G. Roberts, P.M.; Terry L. Snarey, P.M.; and William H. Weichsel, D.D.G.M., 37th Masonic District.

The conferring officers used a gavel of great significance to the Boyde family. The heirloom was used more than a hundred years ago by Robert Boyde, Sr.'s great-grandfather, Harry C. Boyde, when he was Worshipful Master of Glasgow Lodge No. 485, Shippingport, during the years 1880-1882.
