subact

Subacute services are provided to individuals on a short-term basis in the Renaissance Unit of the Masonic Health Care Center in Elizabethtown and at the Valley Care Masonic Center of the Masonic Village at Sewickley for patients who require rehabilitation after hospitalization. The following subacute services are provided at both locations:

Care and monitoring of dialysis treatments

Infection control

Wound management

IV therapy

Total parenteral nutrition

Orthopedic rehabilitation (such as fractures, joint replacements, amputations)

Pain management

Respiratory care services

The staffs of the subacute units work with patients individually to help them achieve their highest level of functioning. Teamwork among physicians, care managers, nursing staff, social workers, dietitians, pastoral services, therapeutic recreation, rehabilitation staff, patients, and their families, establishes an outcome-oriented treatment and works toward returning the patient to his or her home environment. Both are Medicare/Medicaid approved subacute facilities.
