James L. Ernette, R.W.P.G.M. and President of the Pennsylvania Masonic Foundation for Children, presented a check for $18,400 to Safety Kids, Inc. to be used in the Charlie Check-First program, which is run in conjunction with the F.B.I.'s Adopt-a-School program. The contribution was accepted by Diane Brown, Director of Safety Kids, Inc., pictured with Bro. Ernette and the Charlie Check-First mascot. This is one of the many community programs that the Foundation is sponsoring throughout the Commonwealth in 2001. Present at the ceremony were Bro. and Lt. Col. Thomas K. Coury, Tyrian Lodge No. 644, Lower Burrell, of the Pennsylvania State Police, who is a member of the Safety Kids Board of Directors, and the district attorney, legislators, and dignitaries from the Pittsburgh area.
