It was a testimony for Friend to Friend efforts when four Grand Master's jackets were awarded on Mar. 6 to first-line signers of petitions in Temple Lodge No. 248, Tunkhannock. Martin W. Migliori (right), 15th Masonic D.D.G.M., and Van G. Booth (left), W.M., presented purple jackets to (l-r): Allen J. Brooks, Paul J. Marshall, P.M., and Tom Henry. Hudson L. Sherman, P.M. was not available for the picture.
Robert L. Dluge, Jr., R.W. Grand Master, has said that the Grand Lodge will continue awarding a jacket to a first-time, first-line signer of a petition. The Grand Master urged all lodges to participate in the program and strive to have many brethren wearing purple jackets.
The purple jacket program continues with the same guidelines it has had since its introduction nearly four years ago. To receive the jacket, the Secretary of the lodge must forward the verification of the first-line signer and send it along with jacket information to the Grand Lodge. A brother can earn only one jacket. Any member who has been a first-line signer of a petition and has not received the award should contact his lodge Secretary. |
