George Bartram-Paul Sand Lodge No. 298, Media, selected Joshua Lockhard, the son of Bro. Richard and Beth Lockhard, to drive the Soap Box Derby car that the lodge is sponsoring in this year's race. Joshua is an elementary student who was selected from among the children and grandchildren of members of Lodge No. 298. The young driver will spend several months building his car and preparing for the race. Trying out a demonstration racer, Joshua received a sponsorship check from William Seganti, W.M. (right), accompanied by Richard Maida (left) and Timothy Nowell, both of the Lodge's Community Service Committee.
Very active in the community, George Bartram-Paul Sand Lodge also sponsors scholarships for seniors at Penncrest High School and a team in the Media Little League; co-sponsors a hunter safety program; supports the Salvation Army, DeMolay, and Rainbow Girls; and collaborates with the Media Elementary School Parent-Teachers Group and the Media Borough Recreation Committee to renovate and re-equip the school playground.
