G.M., Masons Visit Veterans in Erie VA Center
On Oct. 17, R.W. Grand Master Marvin A. Cunningham, Sr. and a group of Pennsylvania Freemasons visited the Erie Veterans Administration Medical Center to meet and greet veterans, donate a gift to the Center, and present a volunteer service award on behalf of the Masonic Service Association to a dedicated Pennsylvania Mason.
"Good luck from a 'swabbie' to a 'flyboy'" was the parting wish by Marvin A. Cunningham, Sr., R.W.G.M., when visiting veteran Thomas Scully (above). The visiting Masons are James T. Young, Aide to the Grand Master; Richard Fitzsimmons, P.M., Perry-Keystone Lodge No. 392, Erie; Grand Master Cunningham, Sr.; Donald A. Snyder, D.D.G.M., 24th Masonic District; Marvin G. Speicher, R.W. Grand Treasurer; and G. Kent Hackney, Aide to the Grand Master.
Grand Master Cunningham presented a Masonic Service Association Certificate of Recognition to Bro. Robert L. Laird (center in picture at right), Lawrence Lodge No. 708, Erie, for his years of service as a volunteer at the Erie VA Medical Center. Previously, on behalf of the Masons of Pennsylvania, the Grand Master presented a check to James A. Palmer (right in picture), Director, Erie VA Medical Center, to purchase a digital camera and equipment for the Center's recreational facilities.
