Perseverance Lodge Makes Scholarships Possible

Perseverance Lodge No. 21, Harrisburg, provides academic scholarships annually to support the Pennsylvania Big 33 Scholarship Foundation. Recently, Mickey Minnich, Executive Director of the Big 33, presented $1,000 awards to four students: Kristina Bauer of Mechanicsburg High School, attending the University of Pittsburgh; Megan Klinger of Millersburg High School, attending the Susquehanna University; Jonathan Sanders of Carlisle High School, attending Grove City College; and Shawn Walters of Central Dauphin East High School, attending Bucknell University. The Big 33 has awarded more than $1.5 million in scholarships. Started in 1957, the Big 33 football game each year matches the top 33 high school seniors from throughout Pennsylvania with the 33 high school all-star players from Ohio in the Big 33 game in Hershey.
