Masons of Note for February

divWhile on a trip to Alaska late last summer, Clarence W. Martin, then-W.M., Manheim Lodge No. 587, visited Mt. Juneau-Gastineaux Lodge No. 21 in Juneau. H. Daniel McCrummen, W.M. of the lodge in Alaska, said that they "... get very few visitors at a Blue Lodge meeting and never any from Pennsylvania." Bro. Martin was presented with a fine silver proof medallion struck in commemoration of their 100th anniversary in Freemasonry.

divWhile serving in the East during 2002, Hall Shaver, Sr., W.M., Wyoming Lodge No. 468, presented his daughter, Dawn, with her gavel when she was installed as Worthy Matron of Harmony Chapter No. 58, Order of the Eastern Star. She also is the Mother Advisor of Harmony Assembly No. 74, International Order of Rainbow for Girls.

divRobert F. Beitzel, P.M., will retire from 34 years of service as a Line Officer in one capacity or another in Lodge No. 43, Lancaster. Bro. Beitzel not only served as Worshipful Master, but also served for 17 years as a Trustee, and the past 11 years as Treasurer. In addition, he has headed the Lodge Funeral Team since 1994, and has been an active community volunteer.
