Seminar Concludes Busy Education Committee Year The Masonic Education Committee of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania concluded a busy year of 2002 with 104 Lodge Education chairmen from across the state attending a one-day seminar at the Masonic Homes at Elizabethtown. Ill. Bro. C. DeForrest Trexler, 33º, Deputy for Pennsylvania, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, N.M.J., addressed the Masonic educators on the subject of the Family of Freemasonry. He told them that one of their most important functions is not only being able to answer questions about Blue Lodge Masonry, but also those questions raised by Master Masons about the appendant bodies and how they fit into the Family of Freemasonry. The seminar also covered topics such as: What is the role and what are the responsibilities of a Lodge Education Chairman? How to help the officers in the Lodge. How to get educational materials. The importance of presenting education packets to the new members and what constitutes good Lodge programs. Materials needed for developing good Mentor Programs were distributed. Bro. Edward O. Weisser, R.W.P.G.M., Chairman, announced that there will be a District Education training session on Feb. 22 in the Masonic Homes at Elizabethtown. |
