On Sept. 8, 2007, Bro. and Knight Edward H. Fowler, Jr., of Belle Vernon, Pa., was elected and installed the Most Eminent Grand Master-General of Convent General Knights of the York Cross of Honor for the year 2007-2008 at the 72nd Annual Conclave held in Nashville, Tenn. Convent General is comprised of 81 subordinate Priories with approximately 12,700 members in the United States, Australia, Canada, France and the Philippines. Bro. Fowler was also invested with the distinctive honor of Knight Grand Cross, which is the highest honor that can be received from Convent General.

Membership in the Knights of the York Cross of Honor is by invitation only, and requires its members to have been elected and installed as the Presiding Officer in all four of the York Rite Organizations, i.e. Lodge, Chapter, Council and Commandery. It is an honorary organization comprised of Masonic leaders who have faithfully served Freemasonry.
