caltagThe Gold Book and Philanthropic Society of the Grand Lodge has been functioning for one year and they are doing just fine but more needs to be done to realize our goal of a permanent endowment to guarantee the perpetuity of our beautiful Grand Lodge

Now is the time for each and every brother to take advantage of having his name in the Gold Book for $500. Do it now! Do your part this year in preserving our heritage at the Masonic Temple.

The Society recognizes those individuals and Lodges which make a contribution of $500 or more to provide for the ongoing expenses of the Masonic Temple.

The Masonic Temple in Philadelphia was constructed in 1873. It has been called one of the great "wonders" of the Masonic world. Adorned with some of the finest artifacts of Freemasonry and magnificent Lodge rooms based on themes of the ancient architectural world, the Masonic Temple connects us with our past by outwardly displaying our Masonic traditions and values.

Like any aging work, time has had a deteriorating affect on this great wonder. A recent study has indicated a strong need to conduct extensive work now and in the near future to protect and preserve the future of the Temple. Although the Grand Lodge is committed to providing funds to assure the future of this historic building, the work cannot be completed without the help of the fraternity.

The formation of the two societies are for the purpose of receiving donations from Lodges, members and friends, businesses and groups wanting to sustain and preserve this symbol of Masonic Heritage. Donations to the Gold Book Society and the Philanthropic Society are both tax deductible.

The Gold Book Society

recognizes those individuals and Lodges which make a contribution of $500 or more to provide for the ongoing operational expenses of the Masonic Temple. Donors are recognized in a "Gold Book" displayed in the Temple.

The Philanthropic Society

recognizes those individuals and Lodges which make a donation of $250,000 to $1,000,000 or more to fund a permanent endowment for the restoration and preservation of the Temple. Contributors are appropriately recognized on a donor plaque placed within the Temple.

Every brother can begin by giving as little as $5.00 weekly. To open your 'Pledge Account', send your donation of $5.00 or more over a period of weeks, months, or years to Gold Book Society, One N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19107. When you reach the $500 level, your name will be placed in the Gold Book for all to see that you did your part.
