Columbia Lodge No. 91 received its warrant from the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania on September 7, 1801. It now ranks as the 22nd oldest lodge in Pennsylvania and the twelfth oldest in Philadelphia. The first twenty meetings of the lodge were held at the State House in Philadelphia, now known as Independence Hall, when the Grand Lodge was relocated to the Pennsylvania Freemasons' Hall on the south side of Filbert Street above Eighth Street.
