Historical note for March

The 1970’s were a very active time for Roxborough Lodge No. 135.\

At the stated meeting of Roxborough Lodge No. 135, held January 9, 1973, Grand Lodge paid the Lodge an informal visitation for the purpose of presented the newly installed District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District C, Brother Robert G. Boone, P.M. to the members of the District. There were 71 members present and 72 visitors, consisting of Bro. Rochester B. Woodall, Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master and 6 Grand Lodge Officers, 11 District Deputy Grand Masters and 4 Past District Deputy Grand Master. At the stated meeting of Roxborough Lodge No. 135 held June 12, 1973, a motion was presented that our place of meeting of the Lodge be removed to Masonic Hall, 8425 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. This resolution was held over 1 month in accordance with the Ahiman Rezon to a special meeting and that the meeting night and time be changed to the third Monday at 7:30 p.m.

On June 26, 1973 at the stated meeting the resolution to move the place of our meeting was again read and on motion adopted and on September 17, 1973, our first stated meeting was held at the Masonic Hall on Germantown Avenue.
