Oh Lord God in Heaven above, we ask our blessings upon each of us here as we are making history in Carbon Lodge No. 242 of Jim Thorpe as we hold our first stated meeting in our new temple. First, let us give thanks to our founding fathers of Carbon Lodge who had the foresight and dedication to constitute a lodge in Jim Thorpe. They saw a need for a lodge and with their convictions and foresight to invest their money wisely. Carbon Lodge has endured for over 150 plus years. With those same qualifications as our forefathers, the brethren of Carbon Lodge along with our District Deputy Grand Master, Brother Donald. W. Weaver, saw a need for a new Masonic Temple and purchased the United Methodist Church and the rest is history. Many brethren spent hours, yes countless hours, renovating this building to bring it to what we se here tonight. We thank you, God, for our dedicated workers and for many talents that thou has bestowed upon them in order to fulfill or dream. And Oh Lord God, as all of us can see, this is a beautiful temple and we thank you for your guidance. Direct us Oh Lord, in all our future doings with thy most gracious favor, and further us with thy continual help, that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in thee, we may further masonry in general and those of this lodge in particualr and also for the advancement of your kingdom. With this being our future home of Carbon Lodge, we ask that thou will be with us and remain with us as our unseen guest. This is asked in the name of our risen lord and savior and whose name pray. Amen.
-Bro. Stephen Higgins P.M.
