Grand Master Dedicates Masonic Center Courtyard
Members of the "Over-the-Hill Gang" participate in the
raising of the flag at the dedication On Tuesday, June 15, 1999, The Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, members of
Westmoreland Lodge No. 518, members of the "Over-the-Hill Gang", and the
family of Bro. William B. Smith, dedicated the flagpole, marker and center
courtyard of the Greensburg Masonic Center in his memory. The Right Worshipful Grand Master, Bro. James L. Ernette and the entire
core of appointed and elected Grand Lodge Officers were present to assist
the Grand Master and his wife, Brenda, and her mother, Ruby Smith, to
dedicate this honor to his late father-in-law. Bro. Robert L. Dluge, R.W.D.G.M.,
conducted the ceremony with an honor guard of attending lodge officers
and guests. Bro. Ernette, Mrs. Brenda Ernette and Mrs. Ruby Smith unveiled
the honors plaque and members of the "Over-the-Hill Gang" raised the flag. In addition to the flagpole and marker, flowerbeds and evergreens highlight
a patio courtyard of stone. The flagpole and entire Greensburg Masonic
Center will be washed in light to exude an even more impressive presence
than has previously existed. This was made possible through the efforts
of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania and the William B. Smith Family. We
invite everyone to visit this new "highlight" of the Greensburg Masonic
Center and share in the vision of Freemasonry.
