Masters Message for February 2012

Brethren,

A balanced life is crucial to one's overall health. Many of us work at our occupations and family commitments to the detriment of personal rest and relaxation. Please consider taking advantage of these two fraternal events planned for your refreshment: A District-wide Dinner Dance on April 28. Save the date. And the Masonic Pilgrimage bustrip to Philly, Elizabethtown and Gettysburg on May 19-20. More details at a link on our website home page: chartiers297.org ,or contact me personally. Let us endeavor to be happy ourselves.

Masters Message for January 2012

Brethren, as we begin a new Masonic year, I hope you will resolve to take advantage of the benefits offered by your great Fraternity. Most of our floor officers are non-Past Masters, and we have many new members to meet and greet. Are you an experienced Mason? Call an old friend and meet for dinner before the meeting. Are you new to the Lodge? Don't slip away, become involved: I assure you, you will not regret it!

If you have signed a petition or served on an investigation committee, you are vouching for that candidate and are expected to attend his balloting and degree work. This is the commitment you have made. And please take a moment to explain to our new brother about proper Masonic attire.

Grand Lodge may have relaxed the dress requirements, but at Chartiers Lodge we have always attempted to hold ourselves to a higher standard. Jacket and tie is recommended and preferred, but a buttoned shirt with collar is acceptable. Jeans, un-tucked shirts and work shoes are not in my opinion.
