Witch

The plural of Witch is Witches.

A Witch is one who practices Witchcraft.

Both men and women can be Witches, however most seem to have been women, probably because the Revealed Religions of Christianity, Islam and Judaism consider the Worth of a Woman to be about 50% of that of a man.  I have long wondered why any Woman would want to be part of a Religion that places such a low value on her life?

The Christians, in a good show of peace and Religious Tolerance, accused many of being Witches and destroyed them by hanging, drowning or by Burning at the Stake.  (The attitude seemed to be: "If you do not believe in my God, as I believe in God, then you must be killed in some painful manner.")  Fortunately at the least the Christians do not seem to be doing these atrocious activities much anymore, at least in America.  Followers of Islam still like to blow people up with bombs.  Hopefully no Religion will ever become the State Sponsored Religion of America.  If Christians and Muslims followed the Wiccan Rede the Earth would be a much nicer place with a whole lot less violence and hatred.

Modern Witchcraft seems to be called WiccaWitches follow most of the same rules, and celebrate the same holidays, as do the Christians and other followers of other Religions probably since almost all Religions seem to have had most of their beginnings in some form of Sun Worship.

Witches are considered to be Pagans, at least by the Christians and perhaps by followers of some other Religions.

Witches seem to refer to their Religion as the Craft, as does Freemasonry.  Perhaps the fact that Freemasonry uses the term Craft for their work is the reason some Religions hate the Freemasons.  This would be more than enough of a reason for the bigotry involved in most of the Revealed Religions
