What God do Masons Worship?
The one Supreme Being is usually referred to by Masons as the Great Architect of the Universe.
Freemasons do not require the worship of any particular name for God. Only a belief in a Supreme Being is required. This has caused some animosity towards the Freemasons by various religions, especially Christianity and more especially the Catholic Church. At least the Freemasons do not burn people at the stake over the name they choose to use for the Supreme Being.
Freemasonry does not care what name you use to indicate the Supreme Being. The name used is not important since there can only be one Creator of the Universe.
Freemasons are not told, at least by Freemasonry, what name they must use for the God they worship. Freemasons do not care what name you use the Supreme Being.
Freemasons are free to worship the Supreme Being under whatever name they wish to call the Creator.
Since there can only be one Great Architect of the Universe it matters not by what name you choose to call the Supreme Being.
Some Masons worship the Supreme Being with the name of God, others with the name of Allah, others with the name of Yahweh, others with the name of _______ (Pick a name for the Supreme Being). We as Masons do not care what name you use for the one and only Supreme Being.
Most Freemasons, at least in America, use the Holy Bible as the VSL. It is opened on the Altar at each and every meeting of the Freemasons. It is possible that another VSL could also be opened in a Lodge of Freemasons if some members are of another religion.
Perhaps it is time for people to quit killing other people because they use a different name for the Supreme Being, or have a somewhat different idea about the nature of the Supreme Being. If a whole bunch of people worship, or at least believe in, a Supreme Being they believe in the same Supreme Being since only one Supreme Being can exist. If there were any more Supreme Beings they would still be at a meeting attempting to determine where to put the Earth, Moon and Sun!
