Was Hiram Abif Raised from the Dead?
In the Masonic Legend of the Building of King Solomon's Temple, Hiram Abif was not raised from the dead. He was simply dug up after he was murdered by the Three Ruffians and then buried again in a more suitable location for a man of his standing in society.
Many Anti-Masons have claimed that the Masons consider Hiram Abif to have been raised from the dead in an effort to reduce the value of the Christian story of Jesus Christ being raised from the dead to live again. There is no similarity, as far as I can tell, between Jesus Christ and Hiram Abif both being removed from the grave. Jesus Christ is said to have come alive again after having been raised from the dead after three days (Only if one does some poor simple arithmetic), while Hiram Abif was dug up after 14 days so that he could be reburied in a better location. The Freemasons make no claim that Hiram Abif ever came alive again. Also one should remember that the Legend is simply a Legend that is used as a teaching tool sort of like a so-called parable in the Holy Bible. Neither should be taken as the Truth.
The criticism of Freemasonry by the Anti-Masonic and mostly Christian Religious Fanatics about his event is simply the result of a bunch of weak minds having nothing better to do with their time. They need to get a another job and enjoy life.
As for the hatred of Freemasonry by the Catholic Church it may go back to the time when the Masons taught that the Earth was a sphere and that the Earth revolved around the Sun in opposition to the stated knowledge of the Catholic Church.
