Ugaritic Religious Texts
The Ugaritic religious texts were a series of texts found in Ras Shamra (Ugarit), Syria in 1929.
Claude F.A. Schaeffer led the French excavation team that begun working on the site in 1929.[1]
The foundations of Ras Shamra, the Bronze Age city, were divided into "quarters." In the northeast is the acropolis where the 'religious' documents were found in the two temples and the chief priest's house (the library). Most important among these is the Baal cycle which has aided study of Israelite religion and has given us a better understanding of the mythworld of south Anatolia and north Canaan.

It is said that these texts consider Bashan to have been a Nephilim stronghold. See MPD_0009 for more info.
