Leo Taxil had a good education and went into journalism.
Leo Taxil held contempt for both religion and decency.
Leo Taxil wrote a work called "The Secret Amours of Pius IX" for which he was heavily fined.
Leo Taxil accused all Masons as being murderers in spirit, if not in practice.
Under the name of Leo Taxil he wrote a series of books called "Complete Revelations of French Masonry" which attracted great attention.
Leo Taxil was absolved of his crimes against the Catholic Church by the Papal Nuncio of Paris, Mgr. di Rende.
Leo Taxil later wrote a series of books called "Complete Revelations of French Masonry" which were loved by the Catholic Church as an aid in their condemnation of Freemasonry. Leo Taxil created a fictional character named Diana Vaughn who he referred to as the High Priestess of Masonry.
Leo Taxil later admitted that he made up all of it in an attempt to embarrass the Catholic Church that swallowed it hook, line and sinker.
