Special Meetings
( This page was last updated on 23 August 2009 at 22:44 )

Special Meetings of a Lodge may be held at the will and pleasure of the Worshipful Master.  They may be held, as their name indicates, for something Special.  Special Meetings may be held for some purpose other than a Stated Meeting or an Extra Meeting.  The only Business that can be conducted at Special Meetings is the Business for which the Special Meetings was called. Special Meetings are not held very often, at least at Wilmington Lodge No. 804.

A Special Meetings was held at Wilmington Lodge No. 804 on 25 February 2009 for the presentation and display of the Unity Gavel and its Display Case.  The Unity Gavel is the Gavel used at the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania for its Communications.  The Display Case was made of wood collected from each of the Masonic Districts in Pennsylvania.  The Unity Gavel was delivered to Wilmington Lodge No. 804 by the DDGM or the 26th Masonic District, Brother Mark R. Nord.  The Worshipful Master opened and closed the Lodge using the Unity Gavel.

For additional information about the Unity Gavel and its Display Case please see www.pagrandlodge.org and look for the link to the Unity Gavel.
