Solomon or King Solomon
Solomon was the King of Israel who is said to have had a temple erected to God. The temple is said to have been built to house Yahweh.
He is said to have been 'wise' but the term 'wise' was bestowed on all builders and kings who sponsored building for a few thousand years before Solomon. Perhaps he was no smarter than an average king. (See "The Hiram Key" page 23)
Solomon was the son of King David.
In Freemasonry he is considered to be one of the Three Grand Masters who supervised the construction of King Solomon's Temple, along with Hiram the King of Tyre, and Hiram Abif who is also known as the widows son. Mason's recognize this as being part of the teachings of the Third Degree of Freemasonry.
Quick note: Interestingly, any quick search will show that the name of Solomon may be divided into three syllables:
1. Sol - Sun (Latin)
2. Om - Sun (Hindu)
3. On - Sun (Arguments between Persian /
Egyptian)

Perhaps King Solomon's Temple was erected to the Sun God. It certainly was not erected to the Christian God known as Jesus Christ who was not born for another thousand years.
Is the Christian praise for the wisdom of Solomon just another of the many indications that Christianity is just a modified form of Sun Worship in which the Sun is spelled 'Son' as in the Son of God?
The idea of King Solomon's Temple having been erected to the Sun God is not that hard to imagine. King Solomon was certainly not a Christian since Jesus Christ would not be born for close to a millennium after the building of the temple. He also could not have been a Muslim for a similar reason. Mankind has worshiped the Sun for a long time and many to this day are still Sun Worshipers. The Sun does seem to be the giver of life and all good things because without the Sun we would all perish. Thus Sun Worship actually may make more sense than other Religions that are based upon a supposed Revelation by God to someone, which at best is hearsay evidence that could not be considered as evidence in any court of law. Do we believe everyone who claims to have been following the commands of God when they did something that we know is not correct? At least we know that the Sun exists and that without the Sun we would all soon perish. This makes at least as much sense as saying that God in His infinite wisdom had one of his angels come to earth to have sex with the Virgin Mary so that God could be born of a Virgin as Jesus Christ who could irritate the Jews to the point that they would kill him so that he could be raised from the dead to provide everlasting life to those who 'believe' this idea.
Solomon died around 932 BC. His kingdom was then split into 2 parts with Israel in the North with its capitol at Samaria and Judea in the South with its capitol at Jerusalem.
