September is now considered to be the ninth month of the calendar year.

By September of each year the Secretary of the Lodge should determine which members of the Lodge will become eligible for the 50 Year Emblem.  This should be done in order to help calculate the amount of dues that will be needed for the ensuing Masonic Year since 50 Year Members are not required to pay dues for some strange reason, even though most older Brothers have a lot more extra money or at least they have less expenses than the younger members who are buying a home and supporting a family.
